My Story

My name is Nasredinne Younes, and Future Vision was born from my own journey. I was born in Sudan, and one morning when I was eight years old, a militia attacked my hometown and my father was killed. Eight years later, war started again, forcing me to flee my hometown on foot. I stayed in a refugee camp in Tunisia before being brought to the U.S. in 2013.
It was a very hard time, with no family nearby, but I was filled with hope. I worked hard and was able to reconnect with my family, eventually sending them money to move to a safer place. I was also accepted to Grand Valley State University, where I worked toward my degree.
In 2022, I returned to Sudan for the first time to visit my family and reconnect with my roots. While I had a good time, something was missing. I saw so many kids who had lost their fathers, vulnerable children going through incredibly difficult times. I couldn’t ignore the call I felt to help these kids, and that's when I started Future Vision.

This organization is a promise to transform my own pain into a greater purpose. I believe that my experience gives me a unique perspective and a deep commitment to ensuring that today's vulnerable children and families can find hope, resilience, and a path toward a brighter future.
Every program, every initiative, and every interaction at Future Vision is infused with this personal mission. It is my hope that through our work, we can ensure no child feels forgotten and every family has the opportunity to thrive.
