My Story

My name is Nasredinne Younes, and Future Vision was born from my own journey. I was born in Sudan. Lost my father during the Darfur genocide. War forced me to run away from my hometown, with nothing but faith and fear in my heart, crossed the Sahara desert to Libya and stayed in a refugee camp in Tunisia before being brought to the United States. In 2013.
I arrived in a country without my family, an unfamiliar culture, a different language, different food, and weather. Everything was new and difficult, but I knew I had come to this country with a heart filled with hope and a soul filled with desire. Step by step, I adapted the culture and learned the language. I worked so hard for the next 3 years. And in 2016, I was accepted to Grand Valley State University. After 5 long years, I proudly graduated with my degree in 2021. For me, that degree was more than an education; it was proof that resilience, dedication, and belief can carry you through the darkest times.

In 2022, I returned to Sudan for the first time to visit my family and reconnect with my roots. While I had a good time, something was missing. I saw so many kids who had lost their fathers, vulnerable children going through incredibly difficult times. I couldn’t ignore the call I felt to help these kids, and that's when I started Future Vision.
This organization is a promise to transform my own pain into a greater purpose. I believe that my experience gives me a unique perspective and a deep commitment to ensuring that today's vulnerable children and families can find hope, resilience, and a path toward a brighter future.
Every program, every initiative, and every interaction at Future Vision is infused with this personal mission. It is my hope that through our work, we can ensure no child feels forgotten and every family has the opportunity to thrive.
